Debutant and Escort... Cards

We had to find an Escort for Rumina on her Debut. That was the easy part. And then make Escort Cards for guests...What? another Escort???

I have been tasked to prepare for my Niece's 18th Birthday celebration.. The whole preparation for the big event was assigned to Me and another niece, Mae. And so I had to do a little bit of research on things to prepare for the big event. One of them is preparing the Escort Cards.

Shayne (my high school best friend and an event coordinator) stressed that I make sure I have Escort Cards. Clueless as to what it is, she managed to show me one photo on her Ipad; but still the idea seem vague and unnecessary.  With all the things
I still need to prepare. Do I really need to add more to the deadlines I was currently panicking on at the moment?

Whenever I'm in doubt? I have Google to help me out.

What is an Escort Card?

Escort cards are used to inform guests of which table they should be looking for in your reception area. Guest names and table numbers are gracefully displayed on the cards and minimize confusion. http://weddinglovely.com/blog/what-are-escort-cards/

It's commonly used for weddings than birthday parties, I learned. But since we wanted this celebration a special one. I decided I'd go for it.

I used multiple designs but made sure they're dominated by musical notes

You just can't possibly go wrong with cup cakes!

How to Decide for the Designs?

It's overwhelming to see a lot of escort card designs on the web. In fact, the more you search the more confused you get in making up your mind as to what design you'd want to make. The solution? Make it personal.

I used the musical note design to most of my cards mainly because the theme of the celebration was inspired by the movie "Step Up". I also decided to plant it on a cupcake as I am sure guests would want to have a little treat after going through chaotic traffic due to the date the event was set. It was a payday Friday and Valentine's Day to top that!

Sorry for the blurry photo. This is how they are placed on the registration table.

Materials You Will Need

Special Paper
Glossy Paper
Paper cutter
Paper Craft Punch Kit

Cardboard
Double Adhesive Tapes

Looking back, 2 weeks after. I'm glad I decided to squeeze time for it. First, It was fun to make! Second, I was pretty sure no guest got lost in finding their assigned tables. And Third, it made our guests extra special seeing their names on each card.

Thank yo so much Shayne Ganalon for the idea!

Well...Hello Again!

Hello 2014!

I know it's a little bit too late to be welcoming the New Year. I have been quiet busy since last month  preparing for my niece's Debut (18th birthday) which finally happened last Valentine's Day. It was a huge success, I must say and I can't be any prouder of my little Luming, "Stepping Up to Womanhood". I will be posting some her best photos here soon.

Meanwhile, here's some of what I made during the last two and a half months and some I made for the Christmas season.
