The Oyster Part 2

Let's just dive right in.. wink wink*

The Living Room

New Old House

For new Homeowners like me most would be buying furniture and home accessory to achieve a modern and new look.  I choose to bring the "old feeling" with me.

The only thing new in this photo is the curtains and the fabric of the cushions of the accent chairs and ottoman.

Simple Mediterranean Modern Look

I didn't know I like Mediterranean themed houses until I saw them on Google classified as such. All I know is that I want a home with history, personal touch and dominated with wood.

The Coffee Table

This brass coffee table was owned by my late mom-in-law.

In one of our visits to San Pablo after she passed, I saw this tucked in one corner gathering dust looking so worn out and tired.  I asked Tip, my sister- in-law  if I can have it instead and she readily gave it to me. What a Joy!

This table is just 2 years younger than me based from the pictures I've seen. Talk about history.

 The Old Baul

This used to house the old photos of my family. It has kept the baby pics of my kids safe and free from mold and moisture for many years. The first week after we moved in I sanded this thing down, painted it then sanded again. I never liked the glossy and new look, I thought it looked better with age.

The Vintage Industrial Lamp

I bought this lamp from a thrift shop for Php 100. The fabric cover was partly torn and water damaged. I fixed it simply by pulling all the fabrics out  and replace the bulb with LED Vintage filament light bulb. Tada!

Vintage Plate Display

Guess who owns that. Yeap! My mom-in-law! Thank you Nanay :)

Books!

Someone once said, "A home without books is a body without soul".  Everyone in this household loves to read... and write if I may add.

++++++++

In my first blog I posted a photo of my study/home office but it was taken with just the lamp on. SO I decided to take another photo with the main light on.

What's under the stairs?

I keep my friends together

The red vintage make up train case was given by Heidi, the lamp is from Bhong and that tiny pig is me

Japanese Ceramics

I love Japan. I've visited this country twice and I hope to be visiting again in the near future.

MY childhood

My mother used to do the ironing in late afternoons after she's done with her work as a dressmaker. I would watch her shadow on the wall behind her while she chats with a neighbor who'd always come by our house on a regular basis...  I can go on and on..so I will blog about this particular piece soon but meanwhile...

Thank you for visiting my site. I'm thinking of blogging about my potted garden soon. You can click the "follow" or "Sundin" button at the upper right side of this page so that you get updated whenever I post new entries.

See you again soon :)
