Dining with Family

Cure to Boredom:Creativity

Eating, dining is something we do on a regular basis BUT ever since COVID19 struck we eat more often at home.

It's tedious to do the same things day after day.  That's why it is important for me to be creative in things that I do.

Table setting is something I take seriously,  well not that serious but I

do take time to arrange the utensils and make sure the napkins's design

won't clash with the plates color/design and makes sure that the table

is set neatly.

Others find it impractical and waste of time since only you and your

family are the ones dining so who cares?

Well, I do.

Stoneware Plate and Noritake Salad plate

Who ever looks at a nicely set table and gets upset?

In fact even if you only had one fish for each to eat and if it's nicely set it

becomes more appetizing and extra special.

Setting up the mood matters.

Setting up my table like this makes me smile :)

Recently, my sister sent me these Noritake Colonial Times Series Plates

and it went well with my blue stoneware plates.

While the plates on my photos were shopped abroad.  There are really

nice plates available locally online.

Dinner plates and other table wares are available at Lazada, this is

where I shop almost everything I need for my home.

Here's what's available at BANFANG European Ceramic Dish.

That Li'l Nook

Since the Quarantine began, all of us here at home are mostly glued to our  Personal Computer, Laptops and Mobile phones.

I myself  had been spending more time on my PC because I need to use multiple applications simultaneously while trying to learn the ropes of Affiliate Marketing.

I wasn't warned that it wasn't really easy considering you're on your own and no one's actually there to walk you through the whole process.

But!  I'm patient. And when it gets harder and harder to understand I turn to what eases and relaxes my mind.

ORGANIZE.

Not my thoughts.  But the things that distract me the most, things I see around me!

You see it's easier for me to concentrate when I see everything around me is in order.

When all I see is neat and pretty I get inspired to work on something else that needs organizing. Like set my priorities as to what to learn first before I start publishing again. Yup, I started this Affiliate thing like a headless chicken.

So, let me show you my Work Nook.

Pretty isn't it?

This Nook is situated partly under the stairs.

It's quiet small because we have a small house to begin with.

On top of the table are my Personal Computer and  Monitor,  Printer/scanner.Also, some of my favorite things  - Framed "Nude Nymph of the Spring" image,  Pothos water plant in TGIFriday's Glass Goblet (Yes, I'm a Plantita) Vintage Industrial lamp, Hubby's Trophy and  Papemelroti  recycled box for Office knick-knacks.

On top of the box is an intricately carved candle box turned into a pen/pencil holder.

Aside from the pens and pencils I also kept a heart shaped stuff toy given to my by  my youngest son that said  "Happy Valentines".   He gave that to me on Valentines Day 13  years ago, He just turned 21 this month.

My Little Work Nook is charming and special, but wait 'til you see what she has been hiding underneath...

Ugly Spaghetti Wires!~

I won't waste your time. Let's get it organized.

Thank God for Cable Spiral Wrap!

Organizing the wires was such an easy task!

Using the Cable Spiral Wrap is so easy and fast. You're done wrapping the wires before you know it. The only dilemma I encountered was that not all wires have the same length

So, when I reached the end of the shorter wires, I needed to cut the Cable Wrap and manage the few extra wires by coiling them and secure them with Cable Tie.

Finished Project

It's not perfect but way better than when I first started!

Now I'm ready to Work!

To get me more focused without interruptions . I use High Speed Dual Band Wireless Wifi Router for a fast internet connection.

My Home Haven

At Home During the Quarantine Part 1

The General Community Quarantine literally started on my birthday this year.

Feeling BORED on a daily basis is an understatement to describe how I feel.

I knew I had to find ways to entertain myself and divert my attention away from negativity and at the same time stay alive until this Pandemic is over.

We are ordered to stay HOME, hence we will.

And while I'm here I might as well make the most of it.

Let me tell you a story about...

The Brass Coffee Table

The first time I stepped into the house of my soon-to-be Mother-in-law I took notice of her brass center table.

I knew right then that she has an impeccable taste when it comes to home decorating.

Several years later after she passed, I saw the same  brass table now lacking in luster  tucked in one

corner at my sister-in-law's  house.  I thought it's such a  shame to have such a beauty tucked away

stripped of it's glory and hidden from everyone's eyes.

Without shame I asked  Tip (my sis-in-law) if I can keep it instead and without hesitation she said YES!

This table has been with us for almost 20 years now.

What's on Top?

I have carefully selected few books and magazines to represent who we are as a family, well mostly  ME

The Stack

Hubby's College Dorm Coffee Table Book

BeadStyle Mag where my my bracelet was featured in the Readers Gallery Section

Cork Coaster I bought in Amsterdam

I also added a small plant in white and blue bowl and a potpourri in another bowl.

Isn't it something? To introduce who you are without uttering a single word it saves you time and gives good impression too that's why I keep it shiny with the help of  WD-40.

See, when you gather things you love and you see them often, it gives you a warm feeling inside.

Staying at home for a long period of time isn't a bad idea after all.

Women in Relationship and the Internet: Making it Work Virtually

Despite the Notion that TOO MUCH Internet USE is Breaking Marriages and Relationships

The Internet has evolved to make lives a lot easier yet despite this premise, more and more people are discouraged to use the world wide web to save their relationships.

A lot has been written about how Cyberspace addiction can eventually lead to relationship break-ups.

Internet addiction is usually associated with impulsivity, narcissism, and aggression to name a few that has carried on its impact on our offline lives,  according to Elias Aboujauode author of the book   "Virtually You".

How many times have you been busy video chatting with friends while your husband waits up for you?  Or how about your kids refusing to eat at the dinner table and prefers to eat alone in his room while playing online games?  Has your husband been sleeping in the next room so that he can watch Netflix as late as he wants?

8 Rules for Women to Make the Internet work for your Relationship

1. Chat Apps aren't just for quick messages only- Who says that PMs are for quick messages only like, "Pls turn off the light when you leave the house" or "Pls leave the key under the mat"..etc.  How about using it to send your loved one sweet romantic notes?. Send note like you are sending love letters in the old times, only this time it's virtual (plus!  you can add cute romantic emoticons too). wink*

2. Be proud of him and let everyone know about it. Make a small story on your Social Media accounts or Personal Blog about how you appreciate how hard he is working to provide for your family. Be proud of his achievements,  by posting a photo of him with a nice caption about his new conquest.

3. Set a Movie Night at Home- Download your favorite movie or use a movie streaming app to watch your favorite movie right in the comfort of your own bedroom.

4. Create online videos or Photoloops- Gather your happy photos together and create videos or photo loops of special occasions as a family.  Let him know that you cherish all the special occasions that you spent together.

5. Send him a copy of your playlist via digital music or podcast-  Include songs you enjoyed together as boyfriends/girlfriends, songs played during your wedding and love songs that mirror your own love story.

6. Make a virtual album about places you have gone together -and another folder for places you dream of going in the future. This will make you want to look forward to your next vacation together and cherish memories you've made in the past.  This is perfect for couples who like to travel a lot.
But if you prefer the old fashioned photo keeping try this Photo Album

7. Send Virtual gifts - Aside from the real gifts. Virtual flowers will never defeat the real ones...but sometimes if it's impossible to get to a flower shop, it's the thought that counts.

8. Share a Bible quote - Pray together even if it's just online. The best manifestation of how much you wanted your relationship to work is to let your spouse or partner know that you are praying for him/her and your family.  <insert heart here>

The realization is, the cyber world is NOT a bad place for us if we use it responsibly and we make a conscious effort to make it work for our advantage.
