Bling Rings

Which finger do you wear your ring?

Here's an article that says something about which finger you choose to wear 'em.

Guyot Brothers Company says I am into "Love of Beauty, Creativity, Expression of self, Relationship with Others (Jade, Turquoise, Moonstone, Amethyst) Apollo is called the "ring finger" for good reason. Its qualities are some of those which are best emphasized and which most benefit from the the wearing of a ring to emphasize those qualities. Apollo represents, above all, creativity. It is creativity in artistic expression, in craftsmanship, indeed creativity in every endeavor of life. Apollo is the cultivation of the love of beauty in all its forms but especially of the natural world. Apollo represents the "tree-hugger" in all of us. Apollo is that energy within each of us which gives rise to expression of self on every level It is supportive of all other energy and lends them grace, beauty and compassion".

I like wearing my ring in my ring finger. On some occasions I wear them in my index finger, but only because they won't fit on my ring finger.

I made these hand made Bling Rings last week. I was Inspired by an actress I saw on TV. Seriously, I can't remember who she was because my attention was glued to the ring she was wearing.

It's fun and chic to wear rings with big stones like this one too.

What will I ever do without my hand and fingers. I thought they deserve to feel pretty sometimes after too much hard work..

Cool Change

If there's one thing in my life that's missing

It's the time that I spend alone...

Well I was born in the sign of water...and it's there that I fell my best...

Call me old fashioned but this song is one of my favorites.  It reminds me of younger days when my older brothers played it in full volume.  I just love this song and I will never get tired of listening to it.

Today, I will be making a Cool Change my self.  My product name In My Basket will take on a new name which is It Must be Beads. Bye Basket and hello Beads!  So yes, I've finally decided I am not selling baskets in the future (after 5 years!).

Here' a peek of what I am beading at the moment.

Enjoy what's left of your week, guys!

Kidecals: Product Review

Kidecals: Product Review

by InMybasket

About a month ago, Michael from Kidecals sent me an email asking if I'd be interested to review Kidecals  Products. I haven't really reviewed a product other than Tagua Beads from Ecuadorian Hands where I won a bagful of  Beads in their Monthly Beading Contest a couple of years back. This is my second to date and I can't help but feel excited!

Curious, I went and check out  Kidecals website then later found myself imagining my  pantry, closets, fridge, cupboard, bill envelopes  and boxes all neatly labeled... What a pretty sight!
I thought these stickers will look really neat on a Mason Jar.

While the website suggests that this product will make my home more neat, tidy and well organized. I had a better idea than that. Being a bead artist and an online seller, this product will serve me more than what's suggested.

Just take a look...

Kidecals Stickers on InMyBasket's Neck Form and Display Board

I am a Bead Artist and an online seller for almost 5 years now. I make bead jewelry right  at the comfort of my own home.

Working from home and keeping my work and family life in balance has always been a challenge.  Using my time wisely is essential to balance everything (Yes, I run havoc at times when work is loaded and I still have to prepare lunch /dinner in time before kids and hubby get home). So, I always look for ways to save bits of time from my activities.

One of the most time-consuming activity I do at work is editing my photos. Editing includes watermarking each and every photo I wish to upload on my website and FB page.  With Kidecals sticker strategically positioned on  my display board and neck form I need not consume time to watermark them all. Time saved!

This one is a great idea!  The sticker holds the flap of  my resealable plastic bags and keeps my jewelry from slipping.

For the rest of my stickers; I used them mostly to advertise my brand.

Kidecals In a Nutshell

Kidecals  stickers don't  easily lift off and can adhere to any smooth surface and yes, even to fabrics. The surface is smooth and glossy and water resistant. In fact, the one I used on the tumbler is still intact after daily washing for a week.  However,  It's not washing machine-safe. I had it tested and it didn't work. Other than that, the product worked pretty well for me.

Who wouldn't want a personalized stickers to keep your stuff organized ? Or wouldn't it be neat (if you're an old soul like me) to send a birthday card via snail mail and use Kidecals sticker for your return address? There's just so much you can do with these stickers. For now though, I find it best for my home-based business.

Shop Online @ Kidecals.com

Check out their website at Kidecals.com. To date they have over 120 styles of labels that  you can customize. They also just recently introduced  Keycals (keyboard stickers) that I thought is a great gift idea for someone who loves colors and designs on their keyboard.  Check out their wall decals too.

How to Shop Online

Shopping online at Kidecals is a breeze! The website is user-friendly  and so easy to navigate. No need to be "Techie"  here. You can browse by age, gender, style and use.  Once you have sorted what design you like, you can customize your stickers right away by the typing the name or words you like  . You can also adjust the font sizes of the letters. Viola! your customized sticker is done!

How many stickers do you want? That's next.  Choose the set sizes of your stickers. Just click "choose an option" button;  then  add to cart.  Note: You may avail of the free shipping option if you like.  Just look under the "Cart Total" then proceed to checkout. On the checkout page notice one box that says 'Have a Coupon?" The answer is YES! Because Kidecals is giving each of you a 15 % discount.  Just type: fashion in the coupon code box. Lastly, fill out all necessary information about your self and you're done.

Oh and by the way...

I was not paid by Kidecals to write this review. They supplied me with sample products for me to experience them. The views and experience I wrote about are purely mine and not influenced by anyone.

Debutant and Escort... Cards

We had to find an Escort for Rumina on her Debut. That was the easy part. And then make Escort Cards for guests...What? another Escort???

I have been tasked to prepare for my Niece's 18th Birthday celebration.. The whole preparation for the big event was assigned to Me and another niece, Mae. And so I had to do a little bit of research on things to prepare for the big event. One of them is preparing the Escort Cards.

Shayne (my high school best friend and an event coordinator) stressed that I make sure I have Escort Cards. Clueless as to what it is, she managed to show me one photo on her Ipad; but still the idea seem vague and unnecessary.  With all the things
I still need to prepare. Do I really need to add more to the deadlines I was currently panicking on at the moment?

Whenever I'm in doubt? I have Google to help me out.

What is an Escort Card?

Escort cards are used to inform guests of which table they should be looking for in your reception area. Guest names and table numbers are gracefully displayed on the cards and minimize confusion. http://weddinglovely.com/blog/what-are-escort-cards/

It's commonly used for weddings than birthday parties, I learned. But since we wanted this celebration a special one. I decided I'd go for it.

I used multiple designs but made sure they're dominated by musical notes

You just can't possibly go wrong with cup cakes!

How to Decide for the Designs?

It's overwhelming to see a lot of escort card designs on the web. In fact, the more you search the more confused you get in making up your mind as to what design you'd want to make. The solution? Make it personal.

I used the musical note design to most of my cards mainly because the theme of the celebration was inspired by the movie "Step Up". I also decided to plant it on a cupcake as I am sure guests would want to have a little treat after going through chaotic traffic due to the date the event was set. It was a payday Friday and Valentine's Day to top that!

Sorry for the blurry photo. This is how they are placed on the registration table.

Materials You Will Need

Special Paper
Glossy Paper
Paper cutter
Paper Craft Punch Kit
Popsicle Sticks
Cardboard
Double Adhesive Tapes
Mounting Tape

Looking back, 2 weeks after. I'm glad I decided to squeeze time for it. First, It was fun to make! Second, I was pretty sure no guest got lost in finding their assigned tables. And Third, it made our guests extra special seeing their names on each card.

Thank yo so much Shayne Ganalon for the idea!

Well...Hello Again!

Hello 2014!

I know it's a little bit too late to be welcoming the New Year. I have been quiet busy since last month  preparing for my niece's Debut (18th birthday) which finally happened last Valentine's Day. It was a huge success, I must say and I can't be any prouder of my little Luming, "Stepping Up to Womanhood". I will be posting some her best photos here soon.

Meanwhile, here's some of what I made during the last two and a half months and some I made for the Christmas season.
